Louis Armstrong Chart Profile

This page lists the album chart runs of Louis Armstrong. A list of songs by Louis Armstrong can be found here. The albums are listed with the most widely successful first.

One would imagine that a 77 year career, from 1923-2000 would be enough for Louis Armstrong to hold the longevity record. In fact Enrico Caruso holds the record, at 95 years, but only due to a freak minor album hit in Austria. Of course with more than 6 times as many hits Satchmo's career is much more impressive.

#34 - Hello Dolly

This album also made the UK Charts (#45 - 2 weeks). It's listed under Original Soundtrack.

We had it (wrongly) listed under "Original Cast" rather than "Original Soundtrack", so there are two 1964 albums ("Original Cast" and "Louis Armstrong") and the 1970 one is under Barbra Streisand

Thanks for the fix
