same song - cover versions - share the same name

Sorry but this category is almost useless!

What would be really interesting (but of course a lot of work, only possible with collobaration worldwide) a category subsumming versions in different languages of essentially the same song. Sometimes through the decades in different music genres. "Smoke on the water" hard-rock version Deep Purple hasnothing to do with the country song "Smoke on the water". That these song share the same title does not interest me at all.

To claim "Smoke on the water" by Deep Purple has NOTHING common with the country song "Smoke on the water" is clearly wrong. They have the same title. The fact is that for most of this data the title is all we have.

This listing is clearly not useless for thos that have a title.

Creating a website that splits up these two would be a lot of work. When you have done that work come back here and tell us.
